The Marquis of Bute Donated the Velodrome Land for Public Open Space in Perpetuity.

As explained in the extract from the website http://www.cardiffparks.org.uk/otheropenspaces/maindycentre/index.shtml, the Marquis of Bute donated the velodrome site land on the understanding that the land would maintained as public open space in perpetuity. Cardiff Council agreed to this. By now proposing to break that promise Cardiff Council create a precedent which puts all Cardiff parkland donated by the Bute's, at risk of development.
